The day is approaching...
Every creators worst nightmare.
That day…is “Someday”.
It's the kindest lie we tell ourselves.
“Someday” I'll start that project. “Someday” I'll share my work.
“Someday” when I have more time. More money. More certainty.
But someday is where dreams go to die quietly.
And I get it…
Someday is designed to feel reasonable and productive.
It doesn't feel like giving up. It feels like planning. It feels responsible. Safe.
But that's the trap.
You're waiting. And waiting. And waiting.
But for what?
The perfect conditions? They don't exist.
The right moment? You're in it.
Permission? You already have it.
There are 365 “somedays” in a year.
Only one today.
The work isn’t bounded by your circumstances. It doesn't need you to be ready. The work only cares if you show up.
I know creators who had everything…studios, funding, time…and made nothing.
And I know creators who had nothing but made everything that mattered to them.
The difference was never their conditions.
The difference was the decision to begin.
Not someday. Today.
Most of our somedays are dressed in fear.
Fear of it not being perfect. Fear of judgment. Fear of discovering you're not who you thought you were.
Good. I love that…
Because fear means you're close to something real.
Your ideas don’t need your confidence. It needs your presence.
“The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is today.”
I love that quote because it always reminds me exactly what I need to do, and it’s this….
Plant your seed.
Take your biggest “someday" project or task on your journey. The one that feels too big, too vulnerable, too impossible.
And turn someday into today.
Obviously you don’t haver to tackle the entire idea. Just the next smallest step.
One sentence. One sketch. One chord. One minute.
Because here's the truth that changes everything:
You're not waiting for someday. Someday is waiting for you.
So get to work on your dreams.
Today.
Stay creative,
