One of the lessons I've learned is: Just because “everyone” does things a certain way, doesn’t mean that way will work for me. Just because something doesn’t work for “everyone” doesn’t mean it won’t be perfect for me. Evaluate everything. Disregard what works for others, to determine what works for me. What works for others is nothing but noise—an impediment to really listening to myself. Making decisions because it’s what others do is the surest way to end up in the wrong life.
